Christian Education - Adele Smith

Christian Education at Brett-Reed presently is through worship and Sunday School. The Sunday School class is multi-generational where all are welcome. Children are welcomed in worship with Sharing with Children at the time of the scripture readings. We strive to know God's Word through the Bible, studying the Old and New Testaments discovering what the Word is saying and then how we can let it speak to us today. We intersperse these Bible Studies with books by contemporary authors - a past favorite was "Bad Girls of the Bible." Adam Hamilton, a Methodist minister, has made videos and written lessons his travels throughout the Holy Lands following the footsteps of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem to following the footsteps of Jesus to Golgotha and also on topics such as prayer, forgiveness, world religions, etc. We try to explore at least one, if not more, of his series studies a year. For those wishing a bit of refreshments there is coffee and sweets in the fellowship hall from 9:30 until class begins at 10:00.
